Instructors

At Utah Legal Heat our instructors offer you the opportunity to take classes from someone who can be trusted to know and follow the laws associated with owning and using a firearm. Our instructors have a excellent qualifications and they possess a variety of legal, professional and practical skills that enhance the class experience. Classes are usually co-taught by two instructors to insure that each student receives adequate personal attention.

Did you know: To qualify as an instructor for the Utah Concealed Firearm Permit classes, a person must be certified by the State of Utah and have an NRA Firearms Instructor Certificate or a POST Firearms Instructor Certificate.
Jason

Jason is an attorney licensed in both Utah and Nebraska. He is also an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor, NRA Certified Chief Range Safety Officer and Certified Utah Concealed Firearm Permit Instructor. Jason has handled firearms all his life. In his free time, you'll find Jason hiking, hunting and cheering for BYU. He decided to become a Concealed Firearms Permit Instructor because he believes that his legal training and experience can provide his students with unique insight into the laws surrounding firearm ownership and use.

Phil

In addition to handling guns all of his life, Phil is also an NRA certified pistol instructor and a Utah certified concealed firearm permit instructor. Phil has worked for four years as a professional hunting guide in Utah and Idaho, where he has solo guided over 100 successful elk, deer, moose, and buffalo hunts. Phil is currently attending law school at the University of Idaho.

Kevin

Kevin is an NRA Certified Instructor, Certified Utah Concealed Firearm Instructor and avid sportsman. Professionally, Kevin is an Aerospace Executive in the military defense industry, working for one of the nation’s largest defense contractors. Outside of work, Kevin spends his time serving in the community, tending to his cattle and enjoying the company of his family. Kevin is a self proclaimed "old man, who is suffering from advanced stages of post traumatic bitterness syndrome."
